Kingsbarns Golf Links

Ranked as one of the top 100 courses in the world, Kingsbarns Golf Course is somewhere altogether special. Golf has been enjoyed over the links land of Kingsbarns since it’s beginning in 1793. The land has been ploughed to add to the current tenant’s farmable land in 1850, and mined during the Second World War, which reverted the land to rough pasture. Golf was resurrected on Kingsbarns Links at the dawning of the 21st Century. The only Scottish course to be built on links land in over 70 years and with its unique seaside setting, you’ll experience scenery like nowhere else. There are 18 holes in total, and the course becomes more difficult as you go along; if you need a little extra practice, pop down to the Practice Range just a short walk from the 1st tee, where well-trained members of staff are always on hand for any assistance you may require. Finally, after you’re done golfing for the day head to the relaxing clubhouse for a warm and hearty welcome and some food or simply a beverage. Over-stuffed leather armchairs and an extensive menu of dishes will make the day complete.

Hard to compare Kingsbarns to anywhere else, as is it very special. From the moment you arrive, it is a first class experience and something that sets it apart from other local courses. Spectacular.

Played the second week of August using the rental clubs at the course. This is a must play course. Superbly maintained and beautiful beyond words. The folks at the course were very accommodating and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed this course and will pay again when I'm back in Scotland!!!

I haven\'t played the Old course at St. Andrews yet, but I\'ve walked parts of it. It\'s easy to see why some golfers love Kingsbarns more. The sheer visual overload runs on a continuous loop. Once golfers encounter a view of the North Sea they believe to be the best, they turn a corner or climb to a new tee box and find a better one. The generous fairways make the modern links seem easier than it is. The second shots are exacting and will eventually take a toll on the scorecard. This is a St. Andrews must-do.
